This is research undertaken by Alhaji S. B. Ikharo.  The purpose of this research is to bring out the genealogy of Ikharo.  I observe that most of us are not aware of our being consanguineous resultant of which we pass our relations on the way without recognition.  The consequence of this no doubt, is keeping us at arm’s length.

The trouble with us is that we confine too much to our nuclear families.  It is my opinion that we step further to include the extended families which are relations by blood through the father and mother.  It will earn us better dividends if the nuclear and extended families come together and join forces than remaining in biological units.

From all indications, and to be frank, no one is to blame at this point in time because no move has ever been made by anybody about this.  If this research is successful and completed, it will serve as impetus for unity since we will all know how related we are to one another.

We are all aware that Ikharo is our Grand Father and Ikelebe is our Great Grand Father and that Osime is our Great, Great, and Grand-Father.  We shall concern ourselves to all that has to do with Ikharo here.

IKHARO: THE FIFTH OTARU OF AUCHI

Ikharo was born in about 1793.  The father of Ikharo was Ikelebe Onabor Osime.  This Osime hailed from Ughuye Akpekpe, Auchi.  The mother of Ikharo was from Iyaro Ubuneke.  Her name was Okhiaughie a daughter to Ige.  She was also called Obhige.  Ikharo was the only son of his mother.

He ruled from 1905 to 1919.  He died in the year 1919.  May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

1. Onaighiky Obsei Igbaoshiobo: Married to Igiebor of Iyetse. Audulai Afegbokhai – Yamah and later the Dauda of Usogun. Ochieme – Married to Atsekhaemho of Akpekpe.
2. Onaetsa/Ufua – This woman was captured a war victim and Ikharo took her to himself as a wife. Sado was the only son of this woman.
3. Olukhu – Onaigbe Idoghue – Married to Idasome of Iyetse. Okuotse – Married to Oshiolumho if Iyetse and later got married to Omhekhe of Afaidokhai. Sefia Erelume – Married to Momodu Ugbonokhua of Afaidokhai
4. Oyogu-Onegbeko Zenebu Iyofa Akpekpe Braimah Ikhelobha Keisaraki and later the Daudu of Usogun. Momodu a.k.a Parker, Meriamue – Married to Saibu Osono of Agbede. Aliu, Aminat/Ighuenemeh – Married to Garuba of Afobome Akpekpe, Alufa Bello.
5. Ashetue Isebhe Iyekhe Abu Office: The Yamah of Usogun Asimawu – Married to Enaikele of South Ibie. She later got married to Mallam Maliki of Iyofa Akpekpe. Sule, Awuta Aghufue – Married to one Braimah driver of Weppa Wanno. He learnt driving from uncle Momodu Parker.
6. Onaibie Ikhimiagie Fatimetu Mamudu Johnson, Mallam Audu Aziku, Osumah Okhuliaghue and Maimuna – Married to Mallam Kadiri of Jattu Ikpe. Omosikhume.
7. Aigbesimie Zenebu This woman was formally married to Ikpetie and had for him Osumah, Musa, Momoh, Asimaue and Abiba. After the death of Ikpetie, Ikharo then married her and had Isha Bezefeli for this woman. Later, had Saliu A. I. after the death of Ikharo.

(2) Idogue, the Most Senior of Ikharo’s Daughters
Idoguge – the most senior of Ikharo’s daughters This woman was married to Idasome of Iyetse and had a daughter for him by name Eletse. Eletse was married to Osumah Iyabhobu of Afosigw Iyekhe. She had Shiaka – Jagaba, Abdulai, Alasa, Aliu, Momodu and Aminetu for him.

(3) Okhuotse, Ikharo’s Daughter
Okhuotse, Ikharo’s Daughter This woman had Igiesimi for Osiolumho of Iyogaga. She also had Sametu Agbadeghe for Omhekhe of Idaniyetse. She later married Agbedio of South Ibie and had Mamune for him. She came back to Auchi and got married to Iguruza of Iyogaga and had for him Gibia Ayobo Sule Egbeadiokhai’s wife Shielu and Ilulie.

(4) Aidonesi, Ikharo’s Daughter
  This woman had Umoru and Ashetu for Sado of Iyofa. She had Erlume/Fatima and Jima for Garuza of Iyofa. She also had Adi and Azara for Momodu/Oshiole of Iyofa.

(5) Sefia Eralumhe, Ikharo’s Daughter
  This woman had Ashetu, Audulai, Agunu and Shaibu for Momodu Gboligi of Afaidokhai.

  This woman was first married to Enaikela of South Ibie Iyakpi. She had a daughter for him by name Azumi. This Azumi got married at South Ibie Iyakpi. Asimawu later came to marry Mallam Maliki of Iyofa. She had Awawu – married at Aibotse. Omomo – Married to Oseni of Afaidokhai.

1. Awaus Osogbo – Igbei Aliu, Melia – Married to S.S. Bello of Aibotse. Iyagba/Ashetu – Married to Musa of Jattu.

  This woman is the last daughter of Ikharo. She got married to one Kadiri of Jattu. She had the following children – Alhaji Momodu, Aminetu – Married to Isah of Jattu. Unela – Married to Mijiwa of Jattu, Hajiya Rakiya married to Alhaji Tanimu Rufai of Jattu/Lapai, Abdullai, Alasa, Oseni and Alisu.

1. Abiba Ajanaku of Ayo Momodu Sani, Adama – Married to Mallam Abudulai the brother to Justice Eboh of Sebe
