Alhaji (DCI) Isah Ikharo was born on October 30, 1954 in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. He attended Muslim Primary School Auchi (1961-1966) and was admitted into Ansar Ud Deen College (now Momodu College) Agbede in 1969.
Thereafter, he gained admission into Kaduna Polytechnic in 1974 to study in the OND in Food Technology as a pioneer student and graduated as the best in his class. Consequent upon this, he obtained the Federal Government Scholarship to continue his studies up to the HND level of the same institution. Following graduation and given the excellent academic records, the Kaduna Polytechnic employed him as a Lecturer and subsequently, sent him on in-service training to study Chemical Engineering at the Loughborough University of Technology in the United Kingdom.
On his return in 1984, Isah Ikharo continued teaching at the same institution and later gained admission into the Anambra State University of Science & Technology (ASUTECH) Awka Campus to study for the M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology, graduating in 1991. In 1992, Mr. Ikharo had cause to transfer his services to the Immigration Service as Deputy Comptroller of Immigration. He was a Passport Controller Officer for Edo STate.
Mr. Ikharo has a most pleasant disposition and he loves his work. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Food, Science & Technology (NIFST), and he was the one-time Chairman (Northern Chapter) of NIFST. He has remained active as a member of NIFST.
