PRINCE MALAM AUDU (AZIKU) IKHARO was born around 1910 to the family of Chief Ikharo, the fifth Otaru of Auchi, who led Auchi Kingdom from 1905 – 1919 and Mrs Fatimetu Ikhimiagie Onaibie. Prince Malam Audu is the grandson of Ikelebe Onabor Osime – the first Otaru of Auchi Kingdom.
Chief Ikharo married Fatimetu (Ikhimiagie) from Ibie hence her nickname Onaibie. The marriage produced four children including Prince Malam Audu in this order of seniority as listed below:
- Prince Mamudu (Johnson) Ikharo
- Prince Malam Audu (Aziku) Ikharo
- Prince Osuma (Sergent/Okhuliaghue) Ikharo
- Princess Maimuna (Matamalam) Ikharo
Prince Malam Audu Ikharo, a Prince from Ikharo Royal Family of Auchi Kingdom was an Islamic scholar, a devoted Muslim, an adherent to the teachings of the holy Quran and hadith of the prophet (PBUH). He embarked on Muslim holy pilgrimage to Mecca three consecutive times while alive.
He was a selfless Islamic community leader, was also the Imam of Ikharo’s Mosque at Auchi, a trader in Islamic wares and a successful farmer of his time.
Prince Malam Audu Ikharo returned to God Almighty on the 29th of August 1972 (may Allah have mercy on his soul Ameen) leaving behind wives and children as chronicle in the table below:

Prince Malam Audu Ikharo had in all 15 children, made up of 6 males and 9 females. They are all happily married with grandchildren and also doing successfully well in their various chosen fields of endeavour.
