Abdul H. A. Ikharo was born into the Ikharo Royal Family, Sub-ruling House of Ikelebe Royal House of Auchi Kingdom, Etsako West Local Government Area of the Edo State of Nigeria in 1945.
He was trained at the University of Arts London (formerly London College of Printing, Elephant & Castle), Glasgow College of Building & Printing (allied to Caledonian University, Glasgow, UK).
He obtained a Certificate in Printing (Packaging) in 1975, a Certificate in Lithography in 1977, a Diploma in Graphic Reproduction in 1978, a Scottish Higher Diploma of Printing (Administration and Production) in 1980.
He worked with Nisbet Glasgow (Educational Publishers). He joined Monotype Nigeria Ltd. as an Area Sales Manager (North) before setting up Balu Nigeria Ltd., Balu Print Consulting, offering consultancy services to print media, publishing, security, and allied trades. He is currently a Print Management Consultant/Entrepreneur. He has over 32 years of experience in the graphics industry supplying printing equipment/machines.
He is a Fellow, Institute of Printing in Nigeria (FIOPN), Corporate Member, British Institute of Printing (UK), Corporate Member, and Institute of Management Consultants (Nigeria).
He has served as:
- External Examiner, Department of Printing Technology, Kaduna Polytechnic
- Member, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) assessors post HND Printing Technology, Kaduna Polytechnic.
- Member, Accreditation ND/HND Printing Technology, Kaduna Polytechnic.
