Brief History of Prince Alhaji Sule Oshionebo Ikharo

Prince Alhaji Sule Oshionebo Ikharo was the 16th child out of 23 children born by His Royal Highness King Abubakar Ikharo Ikelebe who was the 5th Otaru of the Auchi kingdom from 1905 to 1919.

Prince Alhaji Sule Oshionebo Ikharo was a pet child of his parents and never allowed him to engage in strenous ventures. But in spite of this, he learned to drive a motor vehicle and got a driver’s license in 1944, thereby becoming the second driver in the Auchi kingdom.

From driving, he went into trading from Auchi to Onitsha on foot. He was successful in the business, which earned him a job in John Holt Ltd., Dealers in hardware and produce. He later became the head, until his retirement from John Holt Ltd. in 1959.

He was a big farmer in food and cash crops. He went to Mecca in 1983 to become Alhaji. He died on August 4th, 1994 at an appreciable age of 95 years.
